National Police Day: Ogun Police, POWA organise free medical outreach

 .. As CP Ogunlowo seeks for timely information from residents 

In order to ensure safety of lives and properties, the Ogun State Police command has called  for the cooperation and support of the residents of the State.

The commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo made the call at the free medical and dental outreach organized by the command in conjunction with Police officers Wives Association, POWA, in commemoration of the 2025 National Police Day held on Saturday in Abeokuta, the State capital.

The medical outreach which witnessed free consultation, prostate screening, blood pressure check, blood glucose check, free medication and free counselling was supported by Grace Awokoya foundation and Oral Health Africa initiative. 

The police boss represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and administration, DCP Akinmoladun Olu Moorer urged the residents of the State to always support the men of the command with adequate and timely information in discharging their duties.

DCP Moore while delving on the topic, effect of Policing on the Public, stated that the operatives are functioning in the society so that people  can sleep with their two eyes closed. adding " We expect  from  the the people, timely rendition of information to the police so that we can discharge our responsibility effectively"

The POWA chairperson, Rev. Olubusola Ogunlowo advocated for regular medical checkup for officers and residents of the State.

The event also witnessed health talks by medical personnel which included the Project Coordinator of Grace  Awokoya Health foundation, Phebean Ogundiran ,Pharmacist Ayo  Oluwakorede who all echoed importance of healthy living.

One of the beneficiaries, SP Akinhanmi Funmilayo who spoke to journalists, appreciated the organisers for putting in place the free medical checkups.
