Police is committed to unearth the mystery on the murder of late Ogun Director of Finance - CP Ogunlowo

 




... Assures swift responses to protection of lives and property of Ogun citizens

Ogun Commissioner of Police ,CP lanre Ogunlowo has reiterated the commitment of the Force towards  unearthing the mystery behind the  murder of  the late Director of Finance

He added  that on going investigation into the Murder of  Oyekanmi Taiwo, the late Director of Finance in the Account Department, who was shot by unknown assailants on November 29, 2023, while in possession of an unspecified amount of money, would be unravelled  using the available evidences.


CP Ogunnowo stated this while interacting with members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) at its monthly Congress held at the Secretariat, Iwe Iroyin, Abeokuta.




“There is no vacuum in policing. Despite not being in office when the incident occurred, I want to assure you that a thorough investigation is ongoing, and the police is committed to unravelling the mystery surrounding the murder using available evidence”, he added


 On the swift responses and operation leading to the arrest of the kidnappers of the wife of former Aig (rtd) Odumosu's wife,,he  CP Lanre Ogunnowo  said the effort put in by his personnel to rescue the wife of former senior police officer was not placed in his status as former police officer.


He added that irrespective of the status of citizens, the job  of the police is to safeguard lives and properties, while urging the citizens to be more proactive in providing credible intelligence about suspicious activities in their communities.



“Well, you said something that the police appeared there so fast. Within one week, but what about the Sagamu incident that happened after that, and it was about 5 days, and it didn’t involve any police family.


“It’s not about the victim been a family of police. if we are to go by that we will do everything possible to make sure she didn’t even sleep till the next day.


“We have to think about the people who committed this crime, we have to think of the terrain. I went there myself, and with help of drone technology, we were able to map the area”, he said







CP Ogunnowo however called for a more strengthening Police-Media Collaboration, urging the media to help sensitize the public on crime prevention and the importance of volunteering timely information to the police.
