Human trafficking:Police rescue teenage pregnant girl, three others,arrest suspects in Sagamu

 







Operatives of the Nigeria Police, Ogun State Command, Sagamu Division on Friday rescued a 15- yr- Old pregnant girl and three others who are indigenes of Akwa Ibom from those who were using them for sex- for - money business at a brothel in Sagamu.

A statement from the office of the force spokesperson,Ogun state Command, Eleweran,made available to Newslifeonline on Friday, stated " On January 10, 2025, at about 9:30hrs, a  concerned citizen reported to the station that earlier that same day, around 9:00 AM, four girls—Uduwa Happiness, 23 years old; Mercy Friday, 16 years old; Blessing Emmanuel, 15 years old; and Godstime Sunday, 15 years old and two months pregnant—approached him on the road in Sabo-Sagamu.


"The girls informed him that a woman they referred to as "Madam" and her husband had brought them from their villages in Akwa-Ibom State under the pretense of offering them employment at a supermarket in Sagamu. However, they were actually taken to a brothel in Sabo-Sagamun, where they were exploited for casual relationships. 


"The "Madam" exploited them and  receive payment for their  indecent exposure with an agreement that at the end of the year, she would pay each of them one hundred thousand Naira (₦100,000.00).


"Upon receiving this information, a team of detectives proceeded to the identified brothel, Olarewaj Hotel Sabo. The manager, Waheed Alawodi, 50 years old, was arrested, while other staff and brothel workers fled the scene. 


"Photographs of the four victims were taken, and the case will be forwarded to the SCIID ABK for a thorough investigation once the preliminary inquiries are concluded. the statement ended.
