The Leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Ogun State Chapter has appealed to Gov. Dapo Abiodun to review and convert transport palliative to wage award for workers and pensioners in the state.
This appeal was made in a letter signed by the NLC state Chairman, Comrd. Hammed Benco and made available to journalists on Monday.
According to the letter, the Congress passionately appealed to the governor to review the palliative and convert it to wage award in distribution of #25,000 to Public and Core Workers and #20,000 to Pensioners.
The letter further reads " Congress leadership is appreciating your administration for prompt responses to d plights of the teaming workers in various areas of demand. We are indeed grateful sir
" The leadership will not be grateful if failed in specially appreciating your kind gesture in the payment of #10,000 monthly payment as transportation palliative to all workers and pensioners. It is highly commendable and appreciated sir.
" The Congress is passionately appealing to your good office to review the palliative and convert it to wage award in this distribution:
Public & Core workers - #25,000,
Pensioners - #20,000.
" The National Living wage will be rounding up very soon and the payment may not exceed one or two months in writing Our dear State in Gold.
"Your Excellency, this singular action will award your administration more trust, sincerity and support from the Organized Labour and workers at large.
"NLC will be highly grateful for a prompt and considerable approval sir". The statement concluded.
