SEPARATE PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP FROM OFFICIAL RELATIONSHIP---MY BIGGEST LESSON AS CHAIRMAN

 




The 7th chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, Ogun state chapter, QS Ayoade Sorunke  has said that the biggest lesson he learnt during his tenure as the Ogun state chairman of the Quantity surveyors was the need to separate his personal relationship from his official relationship with his colleagues

QS Sorunke said this at the event marking his end of tenure and formal hand over to a new chairman.

Counting his achievements while in office, QS Sorunke said human capital development, ' in the  two years that I served, among many other things, we were able to have a training on infrastructural development, something they can hold on to as their own, we did a lot of  advocacy,  on the successful advocacy was our visit to the SSG, we have been pursuing an allocation of land for a while, on that day, he just called the head of service and he got it approved for us'

' we did the group life insurance for members, before now, we don't have anything like that..

The key note speaker on the day, Prof. Alabi Awodele of the federal University of Technology, FUTA,Akure, in his speech emphasized the use of technology by members while preparing their cost.

He reiterated the  constant rivalry among built professionals when preparing budget for projects, describing it as retrogressive and unnecessary.
