The new leadership of The National Youth Council of Nigeria in Ogun state had been called upon to be proactive and innovative in finding solution to Youth problems in the State.
A former state chairman and national pro of the council Ap.Dr Tola Adenekan made the call in a Goodwill message at the 2023 elective Congress held at the Valley View Auditorium, Government House, Oke-igbeyin Abeokuta.
According to Dr. Adenekan the state Youth Apex body will be more recognised by the number of solution they were able to proffer to various problems confronting the Youth. He enumerated the youth problem to include unemployment, drug abuse, human trafficking, violence against persons, yahooism, kidnapping and banditry amongst others.
Dr. Tola Adenekan while commending the Ogun state governor for the creation of Ministry of Youth Affairs challenged the Youth Council leadership to be strategic in their thinking by coming up with ideas and proposals that will make the Youth Ministry effective in quality service delivery.
He congratulated the outgoing leadership of the youth council for raising the bar in Youth development activism in the last 4 years.
The Congress was witnessed by The National President of the National Youth Council Com. Sokubo, The Commissioner for Youth in Osun state Mr. Olagunju, and the Ogun state Commissioner for Sport Mr. Wasiu Isiaka who represented the governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun
