The Senator representing Ogun Central, Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, has hailed the victory of Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal as testament to God's awesomeness and a reward for the Governor keeping faith with the tripartite pact with God, the people of the State and himself since assumption of office in 2019,
In a statement issued by Adetunji Adeteye, his Media Aide, the Senator hails the judgement and commends the tribunal for their painstaking consideration of all the issues in dispute, industry and commitment that produced the judgement that not only has dispensed justice without fear or favour but has also deepened our jurisprudence.
"The victory today has further reaffirmed the mandate and confidence reposed in the Governor by the people of Ogun State at the March 18, 2023 Governorship election. The mandate is a reward and deep appreciation of the giant strides the Building Our Future Together Agenda has brought to the State. God has again manifested that His plan will always triumph", the statement continues.
The Senate Chairman of Committee on ICT & Cybersecurity whilst congratulating the Governor on the well deserved victory at the tribunal enjoins him to maintain his inclusive, fair, just and equitable approach to governance that has endeared him to all and sundry.
Senator Salisu appreciates All Progressives Congress (APC) faithful for their commitment and steadfast support to the Governor and the success of the party in the State. He calls on the opposition, particularly the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, to accept the verdict and avoid taking any further action capable of distracting the Governor and the governance process. He counsels them to accept the hands of fellowship of the Governor that remain open at all times, emphasising that the interest of Ogun State should be paramount over and above individual and partisan considerations.
The statement concludes by thanking the people of Ogun State and particularly Ogun Central Senatorial District for their support to the Governor, himself as Ogun Central Senator as well as other elected public officers on the platform of APC.
