Close sources to the family of late Basorun Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola revealed to me this morning that president Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Jamiu Abiodun Abiola, the son of the late Kudirat Abiola, as his Special Assistant on Special Duties operating in the Office of the Vice-President, Alhaji Kashim Shetima.
Alhaji Abdul-Jamiu Abiodun Abiola is the 5th son of the late Symbol of Democracy Basorun MKO Abiola and 2nd son, third child of late Martyr of Democracy Alhaja Kudirat Abiola.
Chief MKO Abiola died on July 7, 1998 after 5 years of incarceration by the Military Junta of late General Sani Abacha while fighting to regain his June 12, 1993 Presidential Election mandate which was annulled by Military President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.
He was later confirmed President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria sometimes in June Year 2018 with accompanied title of GCFR (Grand Commander of the Federal Republic) by former president, Mr. Muhammadu Buhari on the 25th year anniversary of the June 12 election victory.
His mother Hajiya Kudirat Abiola (Martyr of Democracy) was shot dead on Friday, June 4, 1996 by alleged agents of the Late General Sani Abacha while on her way for a diplomatic meeting with Canadian embassy on how to rescue her husband from the military authorities.
This makes JAMIU ABIODUN ABIOLA the only Nigerian young man who lost a father and a mother to a democratic struggle within a very short period in history.
He and his siblings, Lekan, Hafsat, Mumuni and three others are symbolic among the over 60 children of the late business mogul turned politician.
As the son of the Symbol and Marty of Democracy, it is historic for him to be appraised in a new political order.
Prior to this appointment, Jamiu Abiola has been working as a translator in more than six international languages for global translation agencies.
He has also been a petroleum dealer of the NNPC Ikoyi Mega Station for over a decade.
He is also the author of the books 'The President Who Never Ruled",, "Realistic Hope" and several other publications.
He speaks twelve international languages which includes French, Swahili, Arabic, Italiano, German, and other languages.
He is an author, business man, motivational speaker and multi linguist.
Abdul-Jamiu Abiodun Abiola is married with five lovely children and holds the prestigious title of the Shettima Rasheed of Borno, a title his late father held for 15 years before his demise.
Culled from Dan Asabe's page
He is married to one of the beautiful daughters of a former Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Kam Selem of blessed memory.
Congrats to Alhaji Abdul-Jamiu Abiodun Abiola, the Shetima Rasheed of Borno Empire.
