JUST NOW: NIGERIAN BOXING LEGEND,JERRY OKORODUDU IS DEAD

 






Former National Head Coach, who represented Nigeria in the men's Middleweight category at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, USA has gave up the ghost tonight in an hospital in lagos after battling with Partial Stroke, Foot ulcer and Diabeties for many years with no hope or financial support from any quarter.


The South South born former African Middleweight champion was the first to win DICK TIGER MEMORIAL TROPHY in the presence of the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Ibrahim Babangida in, lagos, 1986. had undergone a surgery in 2020 and was stuck at the hospital for not being able to foot his medicals bills


Thanks to the CEO of Fight Gist Media Akinlade Abiodun I R E who made a video documentary of him that went viral on internet and the Ex-international boxer in USA under Eromosele Albert as the president, saw the video and came to his rescue by raising the sum of #600,000 (Six Hundred thousand Naira) while Members of the "APB boxing" WhatsApp group also supported him with #67,000 (Sixty seven thousand naira) for his immediate treatment and sustenance, in 2021.


Early 2023, got knocked down again by Stroke, Foot ulcer caused by Diabeties and all hope to raise money for his surgery fail.


Unfortunately he gave up the ghost to tonight, Wednesday, June, 2023 at an Hospital in lagos, Nigeria..
