The Area Controller of Nigeria Customs Service, Area 1 Ogun State Command, Controller Bamidele Makinde said the Command has handed over seized hard drugs to the State Commander of NDLEA, CN. Ibiba Odili.
Makinde stated this while explaining
the scorecard of the command for the first quarter of the year 2023 to journalists during a press briefing held on Thursday in Abeokuta, the state Capital.
The Controller said the service wouldn't falter in its fight against narcotics couriers that are smuggling hard drugs through the border of Ogun State as this will drastically reduced the use of hard drugs among the youth.
In the area of revenue generation , Makinde disclosed that the command generated #44,857,053:50 as revenue for the first quarter of the year 2023. 
He added the that generated revenue were realized from contrabands auctioned by the command; such as used vehicles, petrol, and others goods without customs paper before being exported out of Nigeria, adding that the amount generated by Ogun area 1 Command surpassed that of the previous first quarter of 2022.
Items seized by the Command were 77
kegs of Premium motor Spirit (Petrol),29 units of used vehicles used for conveyance of Contrabands,10 big bags of Artefacts,19 small bags of Artefacts, 73 Bale of second hand clothes and 14 Bags of second- hand shoes,900 second- hand tyres, 1120 cartons of frozen poultry products 240 cartons of body creams , 127 big sacks and 1375 small bags of Cannabis sativa.
Bamidele also disclosed 181 items as the total of different contrabands seized from the smugglers within the first three months.while smuggled rice amounted to 12,150 bags of 50kg and 25kg totalled 31 trailers.
Makinde disclosed that the rice seizures were made at different locations such as Ilaro Express road to Abeokuta and Abeokuta to Sagamu . including the seizure made at a shopping outlet in Sagamu on March 20, 2023.
The Area Controller attributed the achievements recorded by the command to its synergy with other security agencies in the state.
He also commended the cooperation and support being given to the command by the monarchs in the state's border areas.
